Open Day – A Fantastic Day for a Great Cause

12 August 2026

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Holden Gardens Open Day such an enjoyable and successful day.

Thanks to the generosity of our plot holders, visitors, volunteers and everyone who supported the event, we are delighted to announce that £875.30 was raised and donated to St Luke’s Hospice.

It was a fantastic team effort, with so many people giving their time, helping with preparations, running stalls and activities, donating prizes and supporting the fundraising throughout the day.

A special thank you

A special thank you goes to Jenny and Elaine for the huge amount of work they put into collecting, organising and distributing the raffle prizes.

A big thank you also goes to Grahame Howett, who arranged a voucher from Club Kingswood Health, Beauty & Spa and generously donated £40 towards the cost of a new gazebo for our Open Day.

We would also like to thank Viv & Chris, Leigh & Norman, and Marcin & crew for running stalls and helping make the day such a success, and Ionela for helping with the setup and for the loan of a gazebo.

Most importantly, thank you to all of our committee members, helpers and plot holders who contributed in so many different ways. It really was a community effort.
